Open-source design checkup, coming soon
Made it with AI? Get a checkup before you post.
Design Slop Clinic is an open-source tool that checks posters, card news and web pages for design slop, the signs that make an AI-made visual feel generic or careless. Like running /doctor, you ask your coding agent and the checkup runs automatically. Then it tells you what to fix and how.
Coming soon
In development. The tool is being rebuilt as an agent skill with a command-line tool, and it will be released as open source.

Looking finished is not the same as being finished.
Design slop is a visual that looks complete but says nothing about the organization, its purpose or its readers. It could belong to anyone, and it passes the checking work (typos, facts, trust, accessibility) on to the people who see it. The clinic shows where that happens and why, in plain words. It never gives a score and never claims to tell who made the image.
Checkup
Ask your agent. It runs the checkup.
Give a poster file or a web address to the coding agent you already use. The tool measures what can be measured without any AI model: colors, empty space, contrast, text size, alignment and wording. Your agent then looks at the image itself for the rest and asks you a few questions only you can answer.

Three groups
No score. Three groups.
Findings come in three groups so you know where to start. Every item says what was found and why it matters, in words a non-designer can follow.

Fix it
Every finding comes with a fix.
For each item you get short steps to fix it by hand in Canva or Miricanvas, and a sentence for your AI that changes only that part and keeps the rest.

31 signals in seven families.
Images and web pages use the same rulebook. Only the input differs.
A. Average looks
Visuals that drift toward the same default AI style.
B. Broken hierarchy
Layouts where the eye does not know where to go first.
C. Generation defects
Glitches left behind by image generation.
D. Off brand, off context
Choices that do not fit the organization or the occasion.
E. Trust and ethics
Images that can mislead or treat people carelessly.
F. Copy
Wording that sounds generic or leaves out needed information.
G. Accessibility
Contrast and text size that make things hard to read.
Made to run in the agent you already use.
The tool itself calls no AI model and needs no API key. Your agent does the looking with its own model.

Where it stands
- Not released yet. The repository will open as open source when the skill and command-line tool work.
- It does not score designs or judge whether AI made them.
- Some checks need your agent's eyes or your answers, so not every signal is measured automatically.
- Planned inputs: PNG, JPG, the first page of a PDF, or a public web address.
- Korean text will be read with open-source OCR.
Coming soon as open source.
We will announce the release here. Meanwhile, take a look at the other tools from singandmong.
